Bible Verse
May 2024
Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him and he in God. And we have known and believed the love that God has for us. God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him.
Ā We love Him because He first loved us. If someone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen? And this commandment we have from Him: that he who loves God must love his brother also.
1 John 4:15, 16, 19

Colossians 3:17 says āAnd whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.ā Women of the Word takes that command seriously. Last year, we started providing desserts to the homeless men who visit Our Daily Bread in Baltimore. Recently, we joined Samaritanās Purse in collecting gently used toys, shoes, and clothing for shipment to various sites in Africa. And, frequently we visit hospitals and nursing centers to brighten residentsā days. Our efforts to conduct Bible Study in local correctional institutions have been suspended since the outbreak of COVID-19 and all its variants.Ā Ā
